OUR HISTORY: In 1980, Dave Britton started a truck brokerage service in the basement of his house in Grand Forks, ND. Nine months later, the business moved to a rented office and continued to expand. Covering parts of Alabama and Louisiana Jeff Edmonson, a Fikes owner operator since June of 2006, loaded a trailer with wreaths in Harrington, Maine on December 1, 2010. Over the following week, he delivered wreaths to cemeteries in Alabama and Louisiana. Destinations included: Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile, Baton Rouge, and Fort Hudson. Edmonson was greeted at each stop by volunteers, ready to unload the fresh wreaths from Maine.

Raider Express is a refrigerated truckload carrier specialized in hauling grocery and food products in the contiguous forty eight States. The main base of operations for Raider Express is located in Fort Worth, TX; however additional facilities are maintained in Houston, TX, and Sparta, NJ.
Raider Express had humble beginnings at the Houston Produce Market. The day that Michael Eggleton, Jr. graduated from Texas Tech University in 1998, Mike Eggleton, Sr. and Kaz Wrobel handed him a brief case with a key to a small office, an operating authority and an insurance certificate. He started out brokering loads, and then was given a few trucks. Within 6 months Mike Sr. had officially joined the company, and Kaz had moved his truck fleet to Raider Express. Raider Express expanded its fleet hauling paper, produce, and consumer goods. Gradually however, the company has shifted to almost entirely refrigerated and grocery products. Daniel Eggleton joined the company in 2001, immediately after college graduation from Texas Tech University.
As of March 1, 2014 Raider operated 200 company owned tractors and 470 53′ refrigerated trailers. We have grown over the last few years however we still maintain a high level of service and the attention to detail that is expected by our customers.

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is the only national trade association whose sole focus is the truckload segment of the motor carrier industry. The association represents dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, intermodal container, and end-dump carriers operating in the 48 contiguous states, as well as Alaska, Mexico, and Canada. TCA has a long and rich history that includes several name changes throughout the years. The organization has its origins in two separate groups: the Contract Carrier Conference (founded 1938) and the Common Carrier Conference – Irregular Route (founded 1941). In 1983, these groups merged to become the Interstate Carriers Conference, which changed its name to Interstate Truckload Carriers Conference in June of 1988. In March of 1997, the Board of Directors voted to change the name to its present form: The Truckload Carriers Association.
