Join Wreaths Across America in a Day of Giving on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013
Wreaths Across America (WAA) has joined #GivingTuesday, a first-of-its-kind effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners — charities, families, businesses, and individuals — to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. #GivingTuesday is inspiring people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities.
Taking place Dec. 3, 2013 — the Tuesday after Thanksgiving — #GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a national movement around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are synonymous with holiday shopping.
On #Giving Tuesday, WAA will be reflecting on the generous donations and sponsorships that have supported the organization’s efforts to place a wreath on every headstone at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. and will be encouraging more donations to accomplish this goal.
“It is important for us to take the time to recognize our sponsors for their support of our mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve and their families, and Teach our children the value of freedom,” said Karen Worcester, executive director, Wreaths Across America. “During the holidays, many people are so preoccupied that they forget this time of year should be about family and giving back. Our sponsors understand this.”
Wreaths Across America invites you to join in their mission to Remember, Honor, & Teach.
