Help Wreaths Across America Cover Arlington

Want To Do A Little More To Remember Our Veterans This Holiday Season?

Here’s A Way Everyone Can Do A Little Thing To Help Honor All Our Veterans Buried At Arlington

2011 marks the 20th anniversary of Morrill Worcesters first trip to Arlington National Cemetery with donated wreaths for the headstones of our Nation’s veterans. And for the 20th year observance, Wreaths Across America has made it a goal to cover all of Arlington – over 220,000 wreaths in all sections of its hallowed grounds.

“It is a big task, and with just weeks to go we still need a lot of help or we are going to come up short,” said WAA Executive Director Karen Worcester – whose team is hard at work planning not only for the events at Arlington, but at over 650 other locations nationwide.

So what can you do?

“We are asking people to help spread the word,” Karen explained. “We are asking our supporters that from Veterans Day to National Wreaths Across America Day – to add the following message as a signature line for each email that is sent. That way, we can tell everyone we come in contact with where we stand, when it comes to remembering those who answered the call of duty for us.”

Please join me in this cause that is close to my heart.

Each one of us can do a small part, but TOGETHER we can honor ALL of our veterans. Doesn’t matter if it is $1 or $1000. Every dollar, every wreath, and every moment of silence during the holidays means that our veterans and their families will know – we didn’t forget.

We will never forget.

As Karen added, “We have so many people, businesses and families, who believe in this mission and who are already doing their part. But they want to know what more they can do. This is an easy way to spread the message to family, co-workers, and friends – and at the same time make a statement about how strongly we feel about showing our appreciation when the holidays are such a time for family get-togethers.”
