Preparations Are Being Made
Winter arrived in Maine this week with the first snowfall. The elves (sorry I couldn't resist) are hard at work making wreaths and preparing for the holiday season - with building excitement for the coming events on Saturday December 13th.
The Wreaths Across America™ office is gathering news from our Location Leaders all across the Nation. It is clear and evident that this will be an amazing year, with thousands of wreaths being placed to honor our service men and women, and their families, during the festive season.
So make your plans. And if you haven't already done so, contact your Location Leader(s) (names and numbers available on the website) to them know of your plan to participate. This year we will have over 350 participating locations - more than 100 more than last year!
We have a number of folks all around the Country doing amazing work that will be on display this coming December as we carry out our mission, to Remember; Honor; and Teach. So make your plans and show your appreciation.

Truckers Needed...
If you are connected with or have connections with a transportation company who would like to participate in the Wreaths Across America™ project - please let us know.
We are still looking for truckers to participate in the send-off parade and wreath escort as it leaves Maine for destinations all across the Country. We have a number of companies and individuals who have already signed on, but we are expecting a record year with 100,000+ wreaths being placed - so your help would be greatly appreciated.
If you want to know more, please visit our Truckers Inquiry Page.
Georgetown Athletics at Arlington
This next story comes to us courtesy of Jonathon Cassidy, a senior student-athlete from Georgetown University. It turns out that Jonathon's mother heard about the wreath-laying event, and informed her son. Jonathon and about 30 others participated last December in the wreath-laying events.
This year, Jon has been actively recruiting his fellow students, from other teams such as the women's lacrosse program. The coaches have pitched in to help with transportation and the Hoyas are expecting good representation at Arlington.
Our compliments to Jon and the many students around Nation who will be taking part this December. It is a busy season and students are preparing for exams - which makes their participation all the more significant.
Seems like we all know someone who is serving, or a family that is without a loved one during the holiday season. As Jon related, "We greatly respect what you are doing, and we wish to do some of our part to show our respect as well. Currently for me my cousin is over in Iraq and has had a few close calls. It really brings home the true sacrifice these men give everyday, and it is important that we honor them."
Wise words from an intelligent and talented young man.
KimCrafts Pitches
In to Support WAA
When KimsCrafts of Maine learned of the “Wreaths Across America™” program, they were inspired by Morrill Worcester’s vision and how he made it a reality. They admired how a Maine business owner used his resources to honor our nation’s heroes, both past and present. This year, KimsCrafts is excited to offer its own skills and resources to help support the program’s 2008 wreath-laying. KimsCrafts has designed some special slates with Wreaths Across America™ in mind and is glad to give 30% of the purchase price on these or any KimsCrafts product, to Wreaths Across America™.

Personal Wreaths Available
We have received many requests from folks who are interested in ordering wreaths that can be shipped to their door, either for personal use or placed a non-participating location. With over 350 locations and our list growing daily, Wreaths Across America™ has decided to focus our efforts on the wreaths destined to our program.
Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine (the company that began the wreath-laying tradition over 17 years ago) agreed to handle the requests for mail order wreaths, including creating a new "Patriot Pair" order option whereby one wreath will be shipped to your door, and the other destined to a participating location of your choice.
So if you are looking for a wreath, tree, or centerpiece - it's not too late to place an order and receive your request to celebrate the holidays.

Hope you all enjoyed this small sampling of news, and kudos to all our Leaders so hard at work planning the December Events.
We hope to get one more newsletter out before the 13th, including updated news about the annual escort. So stay tuned for that next week.
Thoughts and seasons greetings to all.
