A Woman Born to Teach Shares Her Love for Our Nation

Every year, Wreaths Across America recognizes those individuals or organizations who exemplify its mission to remember, honor and teach.

This year, during the United States Patent and Trademark Office Military Association's reception honoring Wreaths Across America in Arlington, Virginia, the Remember, Honor, Teach and Founders awards were presented.

Mrs. Nancy Willey was selected as the Teach Award recipient for her dedication to the development of age-appropriate materials for the WAA educational curriculum. You'll also find Mrs. Willey conducting tours, during the summer months, at the Wreaths Across America Museum located at its headquarters in Columbia Falls, Maine.

In this video tribute to Mrs. Willey, you can learn a bit more about the patriotic little Balsam Fir tree, Bailey, who is the featured character in her second children's book now in production.

Congratulations to Mrs. Willey and we'll share more stories with you about the other award winners, all of whom were chosen, as Wreaths Across America's Executive Director Karen Worcester points out, based on character and being a good citizen.
