How long have you been involved with Wreaths Across America?  How did you first become involved?

I became involved in October of 2014.  At the time I first heard of WAA I had just left another job as I needed to find a business with a conscious, so to speak, and to do some good.  My husband was in Rescue Swimmer School in North Carolina so I knew I’d be leaving Maine soon and only was looking for something temporary.  A seasonal customer service position with WAA felt like the perfect fit.

When it came time for me to move to North Carolina I put in my two weeks notice, which was difficult to do given how much I grew to love working with WAA, I was offered a remote social media position.  The opportunity given to me by WAA has been incredible because as a military spouse it can be extremely difficult to find a job with each PCS.  Thanks to WAA, I don’t have to worry about that.

What about the mission means the most to you?

Since becoming a parent the “Teach” portion of the mission has become the most important to me. I want my daughter to grow up understanding what true heroes are and the sacrifices that have been made for us to live in a free country.
