REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.
Welcome to the Georgia National Cemetery 's Wreaths Across America Page.
On Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 12:00 PM, Wreaths Across America will be at Georgia National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.
I am excited to say we have enough wreaths to place one at every headstone and decorate the columbarium’s nicely.
We will have the wreaths laying at 11:00 am. Then at 12 Noon we will have a brief ceremony in the assembly area honoring our heroes and their families.
We are expecting a large volunteer crowd. Parking is very limited in the cemetery. We are encouraging everyone to car pool or park off the side of the entrance street to the cemetery. I am also asking everyone to consider taking Uber/Lyft to the cemetery. We will have a van service picking up and dropping off at the entrance to the cemetery for those taking UBER/Lyft and those who are parking off the side of the entrance street to the cemetery.
If you are coming to assist with preparing the cemetery for the event, please arrive around 8:00 am. You may also contact Michael Kozar at firstname.lastname@example.org. Assistance will be needed with unloading the truck, unboxes and unwrapping the wreaths, staging them for wreaths placement, breaking down and removing the boxes.
If you are coming to lay wreaths, please be at the section by 10:45 am, Parking is very limited. The cemetery will be difficult to navigate through as we get closer to 10:45, so you may want to consider arriving early. We have enough wreaths for every headstone so if you are wanting to place a wreath at your loved one’s grave you will have the opportunity to do so. Since the niches in the columbarium are small, we have these areas decorated before-hand.
Each section will have one or two leaders who will make an announcement a few minutes before 11 am regarding instructions for wreath laying followed by a prayer. The instructions will include you take only one wreath at a time.
After the wreath laying we ask that you head over to the assembly area for the noon ceremony. We plan to finish around 12:30.
Thank you so much for supporting Georgia National Cemetery and Wreaths Across America!

John said he first learned about the Wreaths Across America to remember, honor and teach about five years ago by word-of-mouth through US Xpress....
For The 82nd Airborne Division Association the Mission is a Mindset and It's Personal
According to Mike, chapter members do “grave specific” requests for folks who sponsor wreaths through them, and they do their best to provide photos for those who cannot attend the wreath-laying ceremony in person. They also encourage Gold Star families to join them in Section 60 as they lay the wreaths and say their names....
