The Giordano Family for Veterans

Wreaths Across America is proud to partner with nonprofits and veteran service organizations across the United States in supporting our nation’s heroes and thanking them for their service. Through our fundraising group efforts, WAA stimulates other charitable funds by returning $5 of every $15 wreath sponsorship raised. In doing so, we “do good twice,” recognizing the commitment made by VSOs and other nonprofits to support WAA by directly giving back to their missions in turn.

The Giordano brothers each had their own journey through military service, but all three understood the importance of honoring the sacrifice of our nation’s military and its veterans. Joe and Andy Giordano, both Air Force Veterans, started participating in Wreaths Across America at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne after their older brother passed in 2012. By carrying on their older brother’s wishes to remember, honor, and teach, the Giordano Family for Veterans continues to support the Wreaths Across America mission each December while “doing good twice” for veterans living in their communities.

The Giordano Family for Veterans uses the funds from their Fundraising Group kickback to support veteran service organizations in tandem with their local Deputy Sheriff’s Association. Most recently, the group has donated their funds to the Chelsea Soldiers Home, the Bedford VA Hospital, and others throughout Boston and the eastern seaboards of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. These organizations may then purchase basic needs items for veterans in residence.

“There’s a lot of veterans organizations, and some of these medical facilities…they don’t get the funding that they really should. A lot of times the veterans aren’t getting everything they should have. By us being able to help out and give them that extra, it means the world to me and to my brother Andy both. To realize what some of these veterans are going through. We consider ourselves very fortunate because we’re able to do this. “

“You get an awesome feeling knowing that you did something good and right by these veterans.”

Joe Giordano, Andy Giordano, and Giordano Family for Veterans, we thank you for all you do for Wreaths Across America and your community.
