Wreaths Across America Radio Announces Strategic Partnership with Cup of Joe Radio


Wreaths Across America Radio (WAAR), which is an full-time internet radio station that broadcasts a variety of music, news, and stories regarding American veterans, their families and the on-going community work of Wreaths Across America, is entering into a content sharing agreement with ‘Cup of Joe Radio’.

Cup of Joe Radio will debut on #Wreaths Radio Friday, September 25, 2020 and will be a part of WAAR’s Fun Friday programming lineup. The segment will air twice on Fridays, once from 4-6 PM EDT, and again Friday night from 9-11PM EDT.

Cup of Joe Radio is a radio program produced by Mike Spotswood. He’s joined on air weekly by guests Doug Bradley, and the Motown man Jerry Lamerton. The purpose of their broadcast is to support military veterans worldwide from their studios in New York, and FL. Their program can be heard both online and on WFRZ FM in Rochester, New York.  Mike Spotswood (USMC along with his wife Irene are the on-air hosts for Cup of Joe Radio. Doug Bradley (US Army-retired) Jerry Lamerton US-Army-retired are Vietnam veterans who are  weekly contributors that are passionate about Cup of Joe Radio, and the WAAR mission, to Remember, Honor, and Teach while entertaining with music.

Mike stated, “In the 70’s and 80’s I worked as a first class engineer at radio stations to help them meet FCC regulations. While at these stations I became an announcer. Today, with Cup of Joe, I can tie my life’s work into one project and really use the skills I’ve developed to help my military family. Numerous former Armed Forces Broadcasters (AFN) contribute to the weekly production of Cup of Joe Radio. They are a special breed and continue to serve veterans.

Doug Bradley is a former combat correspondent, Rolling Stone recognized author and story-teller who shares his experiences with Vietnam, and post-Vietnam, to help people understand the veteran experience and to help unify our great country into a better community.

Jerry Lamerton is retired from the Bell System and grew up in Motown, and has a vast knowledge of the Motown sound, and loves sharing the Motown sound with fellow veterans.

The Cup of Joe Radio broadcast began in February of this year with the mission of helping military veterans deal with stress that stemmed from issues related to COVID-19 through the healing power of music. Spotswood, 73, said “listener numbers are growing fast and they have a regular online audience from as far away as Germany and Italy.” Bradley, also 73 said, “Cup of Joe Radio’ is currently a mix of about 80 percent music and 20 percent interviews with veteran-related information such as service dogs, VA legislation, and numerous organizations that help veterans, along with groups like Wreaths Across America.”

Susan Patten of Wreaths Across America radio said, “I think this is going to be a wonderful partnership as there is a synergy of mission and a deep understanding of veterans needs and the needs of their families. We look forward to working with ‘Cup of Joe and seeing how this partnership evolves in the future.”
