Wreaths Across America's "Trucking Tributes" Presents Rock Solid Transport LLC

Wreaths Across America grows every year as citizens sponsor veterans’ wreaths and expand the mission to remember our fallen, honor those who currently serve and their families, and teach younger generations the value of freedom.

It would be impossible to fulfill the mission without the transportation companies that step up every year to say they’ll serve by hauling the gift of America’s respect to participating cemeteries across the country.

With gratitude, “Trucking Tributes” shares personal accounts of their involvement with the Wreaths Across America mission.

Melisa Rongstad of Rock Solid Transport, LLC. in Eau Claire, Wisconsin says she married into the trucking industry, and her husband got his start and training in the U.S. Army.

“My husband Ross joined the Army right out of high school and was stationed during his active duty in Germany,” Melisa explains. “We met and got married after he completed his service, so we never talked about it much. He did say he joined and wanted to fly, but as it turns out he was color blind, so they said no. That’s when he decided to drive.”

Melisa says Ross also shared how important he thought it was to ‘give back’ and when they heard about Wreaths Across America they decided to do just that. Their first year of involvement was 2017.

“Our load assignments were perfect. We had four cemeteries in Wisconsin and seven in Ohio. This year [2018], we had another truck that wanted to do it, so a third driver got involved.”

In 2018, Melisa says she and her husband were able to participate in the Annual Wreath Escort from Columbia Falls, Maine to Augusta, Maine and take a load of veterans’ wreaths to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Saint Louis, Missouri, so they got a “full” experience with Wreaths Across America as a rolling ambassador.

Thank you Melisa, Ross, Bob Degaro, Scott Powell and most importantly the owners of Rock Solid Transport LLC Mike Harsh and Mike Schreck for your support of the Wreaths Across America mission since 2017. We look forward to your continued support in 2019 and beyond.

You can hear more about their experiences during Melisa’s interview on “Trucking Tributes which airs Tuesdays at 11:00 AM, and again at 4:00 PM EST on Wreaths Across America Radio. Our radio stream is located here: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/radio
