REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.
Welcome to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 2 Wreaths Across America Page.
On December 17, 2022, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 2 will be helping Knoxville John Sevier Cemetery, Knoxville National Cemetery, and Knoxville Lyons View Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes.
Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.
Thank you so much for supporting the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 2 and Wreaths Across America!
What's Your Why? Volunteer Spotlight on Dennis Mills
"It’s grown, and every year, we have about four hundred people who come out for the ceremony. It’s phenomenal and a testament to this program and how people really get behind it. It's incredible when people come out of the woodwork to do what they can to help.”...

Directions to Cemetery
Navigation systems do an adequate job finding the cemetery. When you arrive, please follow the people and signs to the site of the ceremony itself.
Parking at Governor John Sevier Veterans State Cemetery is a challenge as this cemetery is large and not set up to accommodate the crowd we have at WAA event.
Police will be at the entrance to assist with traffic flow.
We ask that you save the cemetery parking for the elderly or handicap. We have additional parking at the KUB on John Sevier Highway with a warm shuttle bus ready to take you to the cemetery and return you to your car afterwards. PLEASE help us with parking issues, PARK AND RIDE THE WARM SHUTTLE BUS.
Ceremony and Volunteer Information
We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Governor John Sevier Veterans State Cemetery. We do not request you register to volunteer to place a wreath, anyone that attends our ceremony will be allowed to place wreath (s).
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating while helping to place wreaths. Remeber our mission to remember, honor and teach.
