The association’s effort will honor and remember our nation’s veterans who were laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery while providing resources for its TCA Scholarship Fund.
Truckload Carriers Association Announces Participation in Wreaths Across America’s Truckloads of Remembrance
TCA is proud to announce its participation in the nationwide Truckload of Remembrance in partnership with the nonprofit Wreaths Across America (WAA). Numerous TCA members continually volunteer with WAA, whether hauling wreaths to cemeteries or participating in National Wreaths Across America Day in December, and TCA is excited to take part in this program.
With this new partnership, TCA is registered as a WAA payback Sponsorship Group supporting the efforts for wreath placement at Arlington National Cemetery. TCA will be working to fill one trailer load of sponsored veterans’ wreaths to send to the cemetery this December and TCA is asking for support from our members and the public. One trailer load is approximately 5,000 wreaths, which will be laid at the final resting place of service members as part of National Wreaths Across America Day. Wreath sponsorships are $17 each, and TCA will receive back $5 per sponsorship, which will go to TCA’s Scholarship Fund.
Since 1973, the TCA Scholarship Fund has been providing scholarships to students associated with the trucking industry. Each scholarship recipient must be a good-standing student attending a four-year or two-year college or university and associated with a TCA member company. Last week, TCA announced that the fund will be providing a total of $168,000 to sixty students for the 2024/2025 academic year.
Jim Ward, President of TCA, said this about the new partnership. “TCA is excited to expand its partnership with Wreaths Across America on its Truckloads of Remembrance campaign and help raise awareness and wreaths sponsorships for the mission. And to be able to also raise monies for our Scholarship Fund at the same time, that is a win-win.”
“Each year, WAA partners with more than 300 transportation companies who help us “move the mission.” These companies donate equipment, fuel, staffing, and time to deliver loads of sponsored veterans’ wreaths to their final resting places on the headstones of our nation’s servicemembers laid to rest at more than 4,200 participating cemeteries nationwide,” said Courtney George, Director, Transportation and Industry Relations, WAA. “Truckloads of Remembrance is designed to help expand this reach within the industry through the partnership and support of industry Associations across the country.”

What does it mean to sponsor a wreath? It means you are supporting a yearlong mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those that serve and Teach the next generation the value of freedom. Your sponsorship will support the new and existing programs developed to share the mission. And, it will place a wreath to honor an American hero at one of more than 4,400 participating locations this year on National Wreaths Across America Day – a day set aside to lay gathers as Americans with the same goal.
We can’t do that without your support, though. Your sponsorship will ensure that a wreath is hand-crafted of all-American balsam and hand-tied with a red velvet bow here in Columbia Falls, Maine. It will then be sent to one of our participating locations, where a volunteer will place it on the marker of a hero. That volunteer will then “say their name” to ensure that the legacy of duty, service and sacrifice is never forgotten.
So, what does it mean to sponsor a wreath? It means you have the opportunity to join a grateful nation in saying “thank you” to those who stepped up to serve.
*Please Note: Specific locations designated as "ceremonial-only" accept a limited number of sponsorships. Any additional sponsorships received beyond those used for the ceremony will be distributed to other locations.
