My mom on Sept 11, 2023 and my dad on Oct 4, 2023. My dad served 3 long tours in Vietnam. My mom served in a different way by taking care of the family when my dad was gone and working. She was from South Korea and my dad Ft Fairfield Maine They were married 63 years on Sept 1, 2023. It has been a struggle dealing with them passing 3 weeks apart. To the day that my dad passed he was all about the military. He worked on the Alaska defense force for 14 years. I wish I was in Alaska to honor him with his wreath, but I live in San Antonio Tx where my husband retired from the Air Force. So I remember my mom and dad's sacrifices forever and miss them dearly.
