During his 20 years of service, Peter A. Dansro completed tours in Germany, Korea, and The Gulf War. SSG Dansro was awarded the Army Achievement Medal in 1978 for “his professionalism, enthusiasm, initiative, determination, and devotion in continuous logistical support to the recruiting mission. He was highly motivated to grasp the unique changing demands of recruiting to accomplish the mission regardless of personal sacrifices and the obvious absence of normal duty hours. By his exemplary performance of duty, Sergeant Dansro has reflected distinct credit upon the United States Army, the Army Recruiting Command and himself.” In 1983, he was recognized with the Commendation Medal for his “Outstanding performance of duty as Supply Sergeant for A Company, 1st Battalion, 2nd Infantry. He was one of the key individuals in the unit during the inactivation period. His hard work and expertise in supply areas contributed significantly to a smooth turn-in of company property. SSG Dansro’s dedication to excellence, professionalism, and outstanding performance of duty reflect distinct credit upon himself, this unit and the United States Army.” At his retirement ceremony in 1991, SSG Dansro was awarded the Commendation Medal for, “his meritorious service while assigned to Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 5th Battalion, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry division during Operation Desert Storm. He contributed significantly to the success of the coalition forces defeat of the Iraqi army and the liberation of Kuwait. His tireless devotion to duty exemplifies the finest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 1st Infantry division and the United States Army.”</div><a class='btn btn-primary btn-sm mt-2 remember-wall-toggle-long-description' onclick='initRememberWallToggleLongDescriptionBtn(this)'>Learn more</a> Peter Dansro
