REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.
Welcome to the Miramar National Cemetery 's Wreaths Across America Page.
On December 16, 2023, Wreaths Across America will be at Miramar National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.
Ceremony Details: We invite you to join us virtually for a remembrance ceremony this year! Details about how to view the virtual ceremony will be shared on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/waaCAMRNC/
We are hopeful that we will be able to hold an in-person ceremony in 2023 and appreciate your patience this year as we improvise to accommodate for limited parking in the construction areas around the cemetery.
Wreath Laying Details: If you are interested in helping us lay all sponsored veteran wreaths on December 17th, please register for a time slot by clicking the red volunteer button on this page.
Please note that each registration is for one VEHICLE. You may bring as many people as you'd like as long as they fit in your vehicle. Do not register each person, but instead register each vehicle.
Youth Group Registrations: We are holding 10:00am specifically for our youth groups. Please do not register on this page. Instead, contact the volunteer Location Coordinator, Brenda Kaesler, with the name of your group and she will confirm your registration. Email: wreaths4miramar@gmail.com
Sponsor Veteran Wreaths: Please help our location lay wreaths at over 15,000 veteran graves by clicking the red "Sponsor" button. Directions to Cemetery
Navigation systems do an adequate job finding the cemetery. When you arrive, please follow the direction of the staff for parking and cemetery section selection.
We encourage you to use our off-site parking lot 2 miles east of the cemetery, at 6435 Miramar Road near Carroll Canyon Road. Shuttles depart & return every 10 minutes.
Parking Instructions
We are currently in the process of establishing off-site parking. Due to the on-going construction with limited on site parking, and the desire to get back to public ceremonies, we will only allow vehicles with permanent handicap placards to park on the cemetery property.

Ceremony and Volunteer Information
We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Miramar National Cemetery . Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- During the ceremony, listen to etiquette instructions and hoe to properly place a wreath.
- Follow the instructions of the section leaders among the graves.
- If you observe a child exhibiting actions not appropriate for hallowed grounds (running, yelling, throwing things) PLEASE teach them the proper behavior. Even if they aren't yours. I really does take a village.
- To properly place a wreath, respectfully approach the headstone, say the name out loud, gently and with respect lay the wreath against the stone with the bow in the 12:00 position. Fluff the bow and make sure all is in order before moving to your next area.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
