Welcome to the VA1064P - American Legion, Harold J Davis Post 247's Wreaths Across America Page.
On December 13, 2025 at 10:00 am, VA1064P - American Legion, Harold J Davis Post 247 will be helping Southern Fauquier Cemeteries to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes.
Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.
Our ceremony will be held at Remington Cemetery starting at 10 AM located at 11910 Cemetery Road, Remington, VA.

A Tribute
by Harold J. Davis, Remington American Legion Post 247
Harold Jones Davis Harold Jones Davis, age 89, of Culpeper, Va., passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Royal Haven Assisted Living, Front Royal, Va. Harold was born June 4, 1920, in Sparrows Point, Md. to Clarence Jones Davis and Irene Dempsey Davis. Harold was in the first draft of World War II, serving in the Third Army, Big Red 1 Division that saw action in North Africa and Sicily; was part of the second wave of the assault on Omaha Beach during the D Day invasion of Normandy; participated in the Battle of the Bulge; received the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart. Harold was a founder of the Harold J. Davis, American Legion Post 247 Remington VA. He served on the Culpeper Planning Commission from 1976 to 1993 and was Chairman from 1988 to 1993; a member of the Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge and the Culpeper Masonic Lodge and a longtime member of the Culpeper Kiwanis Club.

We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Southern Fauquier Cemeteries. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
