Fairview Cemetery in Naples, New York is a place of deep historical significance. Here rest some of the earliest veterans connected to the settling and development of the Naples Valley—men who served in the French and Indian War, the American Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and the Civil War. These veterans were among the first families, farmers, builders, and civic leaders who helped shape the community we now call home.
Many of these patriots arrived when Naples was still a frontier settlement in the early 1800s, carving out homesteads along the valley and contributing to the growth of a town known for its resilience, agriculture, and strong sense of local pride. Their service continued long after the battlefield; they became founders of our early churches, roads, orchards, schools, and civic traditions.
As our nation marks America 250 throughout 2026—the anniversary year of our country’s founding—Fairview Cemetery holds particular meaning. Even though the national observance reaches its peak on July 4th, the entire year is dedicated to remembering the people who built, defended, and shaped the United States. Honoring these long-departed veterans through Wreaths Across America ensures that the stories of those who secured our independence, protected our early republic, and helped establish Naples from its earliest days continue to be remembered.
Fairview Cemetery is special because it connects our community to the generations who came before us. By remembering them here, through Wreaths Across America in this America 250 anniversary year, we honor not only their sacrifice but the enduring legacy they left for all who call Naples home.
