WREATH RETIREMENT

Wreath Retirement Sarasota National Cemetery - RAIN OR SHINE!

When - January 3, 2026 at 0800 sharp

Where to enter and park - east entrance by POW/MIA Flag pole

What to wear- dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes (grounds will be damp/wet.  

What to bring - Garden Gloves and a broom handle/PVC Pipe or Painters extension pole for carrying multiple wreaths at a time. No garden carts, sheets, tarps or rope please.  Bring your own beverages for hydration.

How we retire - Only remove our wreaths, no personal items to be removed.  Gathered wreaths should be disposed of in one of the 30# or 40# roll offs stationed throughout the grounds.

Directions to Cemetery

I 75 to Exit #205 (Clark Road/State Rd 72). East on SR 72 4.7 miles to the Main Cemetery Entrance.  You will need to show your VEHICLE PASS at check in.

Follow Local Law Enforcement, VA Police and Mission Army Staff instructions and signs for entering and exiting the cemetery.  ALL TRAFFIC is ONE WAY FLOW, exiting out the East (Maintenance) Entrance.  

Parking Instructions

There is limited parking available on cemetery grounds. Vehicle Passes are a mandatory requirement, All Drivers must register for a vehicle pass through the Volunteer Button. Do NOT register passengers for a vehicle pass. 

One Way Traffic only throughout the cemetery, entering at West End, exiting at East end. Absolutely no parking permitted in any grassy area.  Follow Law Enforcement and traffic attendants directions.

Ceremony and Volunteer Information

Carpooling required.  

All drivers must register for a vehicle pass. Do not register each passenger. Do provide the passenger count in the Vehicle Registration information section. Select the Volunteer button to register for a vehicle pass.
