Ceremony and Volunteer Information

We are honored that you would like to join us at Marietta National Cemetery for our Wreaths Across America program on December 18th, 2021. You can sign up to be a volunteer at: https://wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/14805/Overview/

We invite everyone to participate and we have no age limits. Weather could be an issue, so please dress appropriately for being outside in the elements as the entire program takes place outdoors. We are usually finished laying the wreaths by 1:30, but you are welcome to stay as long as you would like to enjoy the solitude and beauty of the cemetery.

Please arrive no later than 11:30 to participate in the ceremony which will begin at noon simultaneously around the country at over 2000 cemeteries. We lay the wreaths following our very solemn ceremony to ensure that everyone has a chance to participate in honoring the 18,846 soldiers buried in our cemetery.

Marietta National Cemetery is located 500 Washington Avenue. Parking is available outside the cemetery at local businesses, banks, and parking lots. We can make special arrangements if you need help getting into the cemetery.

At this time, we are unable to accept grave specific requests. Families are always welcome to place a wreath on a loved one's grave anywhere in the cemetery.

Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
•    Everyone of all ages is welcome.
•    Ceremonies around the world will be starting at the same moment, so please be on time.
•    Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
•    Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.

The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony.  Thank you so much for helping us achieve our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach.
