I, my children, your friends, and neighbors dedicate these wreaths to the veterans that lay by your side.Herb served as an army psychiatrist during the Vietnam war. He was later sent to Fort Gordon, Georgia where he treated returning POW's. He said this was one of the most challenging assignments he ever had; much more difficult than medical school, life, and all other past challenges. He also said it was the most rewarding and memorable experience of his life. He barely spoke about this, and I know it had a profound effect on him. Herb had a deep and sincere dedication to those he treated.There is no greater honor than serving your country. The Armed Forces of the United States protects all Americans. They also provide help for people from all over the world who pray for assistance. I believe it is with great pride that those who served and sacrificed their lives should be honored forever.
