Weaver, who left his pregnant wife during the Civil War to join the Illinois Union Cavalry. He died a prisoner of war at Andersonville Prison on August 19, 1864. He never met his son. My Uncle Luther came home in 2023 after being identified by the DPAA after having been MIA since September 1, 1950. He was buried in Andersonville National Cemetery because he lived in Americus. I am grateful that he came home while I was alive to be here for his homecoming.
