He was born on November 4, 1940, in Athens, Texas, to Ralph Modon Cason and Hazel Ruth Dean Cason. He was lovingly raised by his father and stepmother, Barbara Cason.Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Anna Deist Cason, and their daughters: Lesli Delaine Cason (partner, John Lawson Brechin III) and Marci Anne Cason.
