Ceremony and Volunteer Information

We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Sioux Center Memory Gardens. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.

Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:

It is with regret we inform you that out of caution for our supporters and in anticipation of the Governor’s address extending the current restrictions of indoor and outdoor gathers, we are needing to make changes to our ceremony and wreath laying this year. Wreaths will still be placed, and our ceremony will happen virtually on Channel 77 and Facebook as well as be broadcasted on KSOU at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 19. See below for specifics:

For those that signed up to place a remembrance wreath on the grave(s) of family or friends, we invite you to drive through the cemetery between 8 AM – 10:30 AM. Volunteers will be handing them out at the Northwest entrance of the cemetery. The American Legion Auxiliary will also have cookies and refreshments to pass out at that time. Please exit when you are finished out the Northeast side of the cemetery (closest to Kinsey).

For those that did not sign up to lay a specific wreath on a grave of a Veteran, we invite you to join us at 11:30 AM to finish placing the remaining remembrance wreaths and ensuring that each Veteran receives this honor this year.

We thank you so much for your continued support of our Mission. We appreciate your understanding during this year of unknowns. We look forward to having our next ceremony in person on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Please contact siouxcenterwaa@gmail.com or (712) 463-2020 (and leave a message) with any questions or concerns.

The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony virtually and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
