Over 23,000 Veterans were remembered and honored with a Veterans Wreath on December 17, 2023.Volunteers are needed to assist with Wreath Retirement at Sarasota National Cemetery. We will remove our Veterans Wreaths ONLY! Do not remove personal items from our heroes' monuments. Enter at the 2nd Entrance (East) and park at the Maintenance Building. Please wear comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes(grounds will be damp/wet), garden gloves, and bring a broom handle/PVC pipe/paint pole for carrying multiple wreaths at one time. No garden carts, tarps/sheets or ropes please.  Thank you and Happy Holidays to all!

Update:  Wreath Laying was rescheduled to December 17, 2023. All Veterans Wreaths were laid.

Due to the impending weather predicted for Sarasota this Saturday and Sunday, we have postponed our Wreath Laying Mission. This decision was made based on the National Weather Service Warnings and Alerts for heavy rainfall, gale force winds, flooding, travel visibility and lightning along with potential tornadic activity in the Sarasota area. Please stay tuned - I will announce new dates and times for wreath laying by Saturday evening.
