Welcome to the In Memory of Linda Mae Golden's Wreaths Across America Page.
Linda Mae Golden, 83, of Rockingham, VA, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at White Birch Assisted Living.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Inez Poole, and her husband, Paul Walton Golden.
Linda lived a life of strength, perseverance, and unfailing love for her Heavenly Father and her family, all attributes which we learned from her and will live on in us.
Linda was a dedicated employee for the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services as an executive secretary and a medical transcriptionist for 37 years.
She was a proud member of the Turner Ashby High School Graduating Class of 1961, and an active member of Harrisonburg Baptist Church where she served as a children’s Sunday School teacher, a youth leader, a choir member, and a deacon.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Victoria Ann Kern (Kevin) of Chambersburg, PA; and, Terrie Lynn Childress (John) of Bridgewater, VA. Also surviving are her sisters, Carol Howard of Abingdon, VA; Faye Poag (Randy) of Dayton, VA; and, a brother-in-law, Lee Golden of Arkansas.
A memorial service will be held at Harrisonburg Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Matt Winters, on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be private.
The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the White Birch staff and invites you, in lieu of flowers, to donate to this care facility, in support of its residents, to White Birch Estates, Inc. Community Fellowship Fund, 847 Oakwood Drive, Rockingham, VA 22801.
