Free Teach Resources for a New School Year
Remember our fallen, honor those who serve and teach the next generation the value of freedom. It’s the mission of Wreaths Across America. Teachers nationwide are discovering that the mission incorporates their objectives to build character and integrity in their students at every grade level.
Wreaths Across America launched an initiative to fulfill the third mission essential more thoroughly: Teach. American Gold Star Mother Cindy Tatum was brought on to help develop a standards-based K-12 curriculum.
In 2022, fully developed lesson plans were introduced and offered for free download for all educators. Public, private, and homeschooling teachers of all grade levels began availing themselves of the lesson plans designed to teach history, develop patriotism and pride, and encourage civic involvement.
Wreaths Across America initiated “teach partnerships” with other like-minded organizations to strengthen educational resources made available throughout the country. To date, ten organizations have teamed up with Wreaths Across America, and links to their education programs can be found on the education resources page. Organizations like the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, World War II Foundation, and the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, to name just a few.
In 2024, the Wreaths Across America Teach program started producing Teach Webinars. Again, through generous support from donors and corporate sponsors, these quarterly webinars are co-hosted with our Teach partners and provided free of charge to those who register. Past webinars and other educational content can be found here.
Additionally, those invested in a child’s education can stay up-to-date with all of the Teach resources and activities hosted by Wreaths Across America and our Teach partners, by subscribing to the free, quarterly newsletter, Teaching Times.
Equally exciting as a new school year gets underway, Wreaths Across America will introduce free lesson plans in Spanish. More lesson plans will be translated in Spanish as resources allow.
Also, with additional support, Wreaths Across America will expand lesson plans to include the STEM disciplines.
Many teachers, parents and students alike have found direct involvement with Wreaths Across America wreath-laying ceremonies at one of our over five thousand participating locations a rewarding and enlightening volunteer experience. Students have fulfilled their community service requirements, and many have added their volunteer activities on college applications and job resumes, making them well-rounded candidates for selection.
School groups and organizations have been successful in generating revenue for their programs by participating in the highly acclaimed sponsorship group program, specifically selecting the $5.00 Back option. This specific program has been responsible for Wreaths Across America contributing over twenty-eight million dollars to other nonprofit organizations since 2007, while our fallen are remembered and honored.
Wreaths Across America wishes all educators from coast to coast a meaningful and productive school year. We hope you’ll let us support you as we remember, honor, and TEACH.
