He deployed to Afghanistan, where he was injured in the line of duty and received the Purple Heart for his sacrifice. When he returned home, he faced battles that were unseen, and despite his strength, those struggles became too heavy to bear.He was a loving son, a devoted brother, and a light in our lives. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering love will never be forgotten. Though his journey ended too soon, his memory lives on in our hearts forever.We honor his service, his bravery, and the beautiful soul he was. He applied and was accepted to the Special Forces. Donald's service took him to many places, including Germany. He was proud to serve and retired with the rank of Captain. In memory of our dear father and grandfather, Alan S. Borsella Sr., who served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1968. He served two tours in Vietnam from 1966-68 as a member of the 155th Air Assault Helicopter Company as a helicopter crew chief. Alan passed away in February 2022 and is always in our thoughts.
