Trucking Tributes with Jim Neebling
In 1996 at Rowan University, Jim Neebling started a trucking company in his fraternity house basement with only a Sears air conditioner, a TV and $7,000. After a decade, he sold his 450-vehicle company. Now, Neebling and his new company, Princeton Logistics Group (PLG), are an important asset in the mission of Wreaths Across America.
This week on Trucking Tributes, host Don Queeney welcomes Jim Neebling, president and founder of PLG, as they talk about Neebling’s beginnings in the trucking industry and his future with Wreaths Across America.
From selling a company to logistics consulting to charity work, Neebling wastes no time in helping build a better future for those around him and the trucking industry. “You don’t fool around, Jim, when you get into something, you get into it with both feet, that’s for sure,” Queeney said.
PLG just completed its third season supporting Wreaths Across America, handling 38 locations. Neebling explains the essential services he provides to small cemeteries in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He says that they “bring the loads down to our cross dock, and we unload them, and then we do box truck routes out to these cemeteries, so that it's more convenient for the receiving end.”
Neebling not only uses his expansive knowledge of the trucking industry to help move the mission, but also personally participates in National Wreaths Across America Day. This last year, he joined his employees and their families for the wreath-laying ceremony in Brielle, New Jersey.
With Neebling’s background in trucking and his respect for the Wreaths Across America mission, he highlights the essential work of professional drivers and trucking companies. “It's not an easy industry. It's not an easy job, and you've got to show them respect,” Neebling said.
